As our country, and local communities face an ever increasing world of turmoil, finding meaningful activities with traditional principles and values for our sons becomes increasingly difficult. Our young boys face questionable subjects at almost every turn in their daily lives from the television to the playground. Many outside sources seek to weaken those values that many parents try to instill in their children. Boy Scouts can provide an outlet that encourages strong values, morals, and ethics based on conservative principals. Our activities build teamwork, discipline, leadership qualities, and provide a strong set of core values that reinforce and enhance those taught in your home.
At the very beginning of every Scouts venture into Scouting, these values are instilled. We do this through the simple acts of stating the Scout Oath, the Scout Law, the Outdoor Code, and adhering to their principals. Additionally, we pledge our allegiance to our Country, and show honor with Flag Ceremonies. As a parent, just using the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and Outdoor Code can provide a tremendous learning tool that becomes part of your sons' daily actions. By discussing with your son the meanings behind those words, and the meaning in stating them publicly, you can provide a tremendous boost towards building a strong foundation of integrity for your son.
Scouting provides direction, and goal achieving values geared towards success. By moving up through the ranks of Scouting, your son will learn many valuable skills along the way. Leadership is strongly emphasized among these skills, and each Scout is required and provided an opportunity to apply themselves in leadership roles. As your Scout progresses upwards through the Scout ranks, you will see him gain knowledge, and confidence. Many of our Nations leaders and prominent citizens have been Scouts, and have drawn on those skills gained in Scouting to achieve success.
If you are looking for an activity that will provide your son with meaningful events that will provide a lifetime of skills while having fun, then Scouting is the right choice for you. Feel free to just drop in to a meeting and see for yourself how our Scouts conduct themselves. We look forward to meeting you and your son.
